The Opening of Misty Beethoven is a 1976 adult comedy inspired by George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion. The story follows Dr. Seymour Love, a famous sexologist who wants to turn a struggling Paris prostitute into a confident and glamorous woman.
The film starts in Paris, where Seymour meets Dolores “Misty” Beethoven. She works as a street prostitute and lacks confidence and experience. Seymour believes he can completely change her life. He makes a bet that he can turn Misty into the perfect seductress and the next “Goldenrod Girl.”
Seymour takes Misty to New York and begins teaching her style, confidence, and social skills. During her training, Misty enters a world filled with wealthy clients, wild parties, and unusual situations. As time passes, she becomes more confident and successful. Soon, Misty surprises everyone with her charm and new lifestyle.
