Provocazione (Provocation) is an Italian erotic drama set in the early 20th century. The story takes place in a small guesthouse in rural Italy, where Carlo runs the restaurant with his wife Amelia and their young nephew, Gianni. Carlo is obsessed with sex, and Amelia is tired of his constant demands. Their marriage feels cold and unbalanced, which creates tension in the house.
Everything changes when an engineer arrives to stay at the guesthouse. He is polite, confident, and very different from Carlo. Amelia quickly becomes attracted to him, and for the first time in years, she feels seen and desired. As the engineer spends more time at the inn, Amelia’s curiosity turns into temptation.
The film slowly builds up the erotic tension between the characters. Amelia struggles between her duty as a wife and her growing desire for the newcomer. At the same time, Carlo senses that something is changing, which creates more drama and emotional conflict inside the house.
Provocazione blends erotic scenes with a story about longing, control, and forbidden passion. It shows how a single stranger can disrupt a routine and push hidden feelings to the surface. The film is a classic example of 90s Italian erotica, with atmospheric settings and a focus on emotional tension rather than fast action.
